At Inkberry Studio this week – Nearing completion of a pen and ink illustration for a wine bottle label, while considering creative options for colour version of the same label. Continuing to read ‘The Guild Handbook of Scientific Illustration’ as well as, collecting and organizing reference material for the next illustration. Wondering when it’s going to stop snowing…

Just finished designing and developing my new website for Inkberry Studio Illustration & Design. Please visit the site at http://www.inkberrystudio.ca and connect with me via social media!

In this past year or so, I have managed to paint a new watercolour painting of my favourite subject – roses, and also signed up for the next Sketchbook Project – 2013.Image

Currently my work as a Graphic Designer has kept me away from watercolour painting, but in an effort to regain my creative illustrating skills I signed up to participate in The 2011 Sketchbook Project. This decision to participate turned out to be exactly what I needed to get back into drawing and painting. I had so much fun filling the pages of my sketchbook that I have now decided to take part in the next project offered by the Art House co-op in Brooklyn, NY. The new project is called The Sketchbook Project World Tour 2012. For more information, please visit their website at http://arthousecoop.com/projects/sketchbookproject.

I should be receiving my sketchbook via mail in the next month or so and look forward to beginning my drawings and posting my progress on my blog!

This painting of a Wisteria sinensis in bloom is a second watercolour painting in my botanical illustration series. (First one is the Pelargonium, posted earlier.)Wisteria Painting

Final signed Pelargonium watercolour painting. Arches Cold Pressed 140 lb watercolour paper.

Friend of mine encouraged me to get back into watercolour painting, and this painting is the result of that effort. My friend Laurie had the local library meeting room booked for an art show and needed a few pieces ‘to fill the room’. I agreed, and I am glad that I did.
